EMT Pipe Requirements

If you didn’t choose the Pipe Framing Kit add-on, you’ll need to source 2-inch EMT (electrical metal tubing) from a local hardware store to complete your frame. We’ll provide a full breakdown of the necessary pipe lengths and quantities for easy setup.

⚠ Note: While commonly called 2-inch EMT in the U.S., the actual outer diameter is 2.197″ (55.8mm)—double-check measurements before purchasing.

How much space is required for installation?

• Factor in the enclosure’s footprint, including built-in buffer space for certain models.
• Maintain a minimum golfer-to-screen distance of 10-12 feet.

When will my enclosure ship?

Each enclosure is made to order for a precise fit. Production times vary based on order volume—add the item to your cart and enter shipping details to see estimated delivery times.

What happens if the enclosure material gets hit by a golf ball?

While the black enclosure fabric isn’t designed for direct impact, shots that hit the impact screen first and bounce off shouldn’t cause any issues.

Can I replace the screen if needed?

Yes! Replacement screens are available—contact our Customer Service Team for details. You can also check the Clearance Section for deals on replacement screens.

How big is the enclosure?

Frame dimensions are listed in the Resources Section to help determine the right fit. C-Series enclosures feature a built-in rear backset fitting, adding 9.5 inches to the enclosure depth—providing additional protection against hard-hit golf balls.

Installation & Setup

What are EMT pipes?

EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing, commonly referred to as electrical conduit. It’s used to construct the frame of Carl’s enclosures. Note: PVC pipes will not work with our fittings.

• DIY Enclosures require 1" EMT.
• Pro and Curved Enclosures require 2" EMT, which can be more challenging to source.
• Pipe Framing Kits are available for purchase to provide pre-cut, correctly sized pipes.

How long does assembly take?

On average, assembling a Curved Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit takes about 4 hours with two or more people.

Is the Curved Golf Enclosure really DIY?

Absolutely! If you’ve ever assembled furniture with just pictures for instructions (and only thrown one or two tools across the room), you’ll be fine. Having a second person makes setup easier, especially when connecting and lifting the frame.

What pipes are needed for the enclosure frame?

The Curved Golf Enclosure requires 2-inch EMT pipes to build the frame. While these can be sourced locally, they are sometimes hard to find. Adding a Pipe Framing Kit ensures you receive pre-cut, marked, and ready-to-assemble pipes for an easier setup.

Important Shipping Note: Pipe Framing Kits ship via freight. If you cannot unload a pallet with 50lb boxes, consider adding lift gate service. International shipping costs for the kit may be high.

Does a curved golf simulator require a special projector?

For the best visual experience, there are two options:

1. Use a projector with built-in image warping capabilities.
2. Pair any standard projector with screen warping software like Immersive Display Pro to adjust the image to match the curve.

Mounting Tip: Measure the distance to the closest edge of the curved screen (not the deepest part) for proper alignment.

How do the ball bungees work?

Ball bungees and zip ties are included to secure the screen and enclosure to the frame. Here’s how to attach them:

1. Insert the looped end of the bungee through a screen grommet from behind.
2. Pull it through until the toggle ball touches the back of the screen.
3. Stretch the cord around the frame.
4. Hook the loop over the toggle ball to secure it in place.

Can I order a custom-size curved enclosure?

Yes! Carl’s Curved Golf Enclosures can be customized to fit your space, within these dimensions:

• Height: 102" to 120"
• Width: 144" to 240"
• Depth: 82" to 240"

Make sure to leave at least 6 inches of clearance above the enclosure and 2-3 inches on each side. Contact our team for custom sizing options. Since custom enclosures are built to order, be sure to review our Returns Policy before purchasing.

What’s the smallest space required for a curved enclosure?

The minimum space required is 9 ft high x 12.5 ft wide x 18 ft deep—this includes necessary buffer space around the enclosure. Contact us for custom sizing if needed.

Can the screen’s curvature be adjusted?

The Curve Rise (the distance from the deepest part of the screen to its edges) is 4.5 feet and is pre-engineered for optimal immersion. While the overall enclosure dimensions can be customized, the curvature itself remains fixed for best performance.
